In this exhibit, Marc explores the streets of Paris through a 50mm lens on a vintage Leica more than forty years old. Often called the “normal” lens because it closely mirrors human vision, it allowed him to quietly observe and capture the intimate moments that give the city its timeless character. Working on film encouraged a slower, more intentional process, highlighting light, texture, and grain in beautifully crafted fiber gelatin prints.
Marc McVey, based in Woodland, Washington, has spent over 30 years photographing his travels, searching for what he calls “accidental moments” that create their own stories. His work has been shown in galleries in San Diego, La Jolla, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Astoria. He is also a proud member of the LightBox Photographic Gallery Guild.
